Government of Maharashtra departments, PSUs, municipal corporations and zilla parishads tender works, goods and services on this NIC GePNIC-based portal maintained with the state Finance and IT departments.
How to register
- 1On mahatenders.gov.in click Online Bidder Enrollment and fill company, contact-person and preferential-bidder (MSE) details.
- 2Verify the email and mobile codes and set a password; the login ID is emailed to you.
- 3Log in and map your Class 3 signing DSC under Signing Certificate (token inserted, CA driver installed).
- 4Upload reusable documents under My Documents; scan PAN, GST, registration and bank proof at 75-100 dpi.
- 5For each bid pay the Rs 500 application fee plus tender fee and EMD online (SBI MOPS or other bank net banking) before freezing the bid.
Things that catch bidders out
- Every bid attracts a Rs 500 application fee (since 15 Aug 2024) on top of tender fee and EMD, so budget it into frequent bidding.
- SBI MOPS payments via other banks' net banking must be made four days before closing; for payment disputes email merchant@sbi.co.in quoting the bank reference number.
- Bids must be frozen before the server-clock deadline and the DSC cannot be remapped once mapped (standard GePNIC behaviour).
- e-BG issues go to a separate NeSL helpdesk (1800 599 2345), not the NIC helpdesk.
- Classifications on the portal include item rate, percentage, lump sum, turnkey, QCBS and PPP forms; pick the right one when searching.
